The production phases consist in processing the trunk into planks and in recomposing them via gluing.
Plank selection (DIN 4074 / EN 14081-4)
In this initial phase, the planks undergo a visual selection, in accordance with the provisions of DIN 4074. This process consists in measuring the humidity of each individual lamella, with the aid of an automatic recording device. Unsuitable elements are rejected as waste. Faulty parts and those with an unsuitable knot ratio are subsequently cut off, again automatically.
Jointing (DIN 68140 / EN 385)
The selected construction material then undergoes milling on both ends, creating what is referred to as the “finger” onto which the adhesive is applied. In the machine (Finger Joint) the lamellae are jointed under pressure and cut to the desired length in full compliance with the provisions of DIN 68140 / EN 385.
The lamellae are calibrated in thickness by means of “planing”, before the subsequent gluing phase.
Gluing (DIN 68141 / EN 386)
The glue is then applied, along with the hardener and, after the nth scrupulous check, all the lamellae are placed inside the purpose-designed press (straight or shaped depending on requirements). The lamellae are first correctly aligned and then closed inside the press, where they are left "under pressure" for the amount of time required.
Planing
Once the gluing process is complete (in full compliance with the provisions of DIN 68141 / EN 386), the beam processing begins. The first stage consists in planing: the faces of the beam are honed using a planer. Then each individual beam is butted and cut using a numerically controlled machine which, reading the files sent directly by the engineering department, performs each individual process on each individual piece, in order to be able to perform perfectly professional installation afterwards.
Finish
Once all the pieces required to make up an individual structure have been cut and processed, they are completed by the application of an anti-bacterial and protective coating and can then be customised in the Customer's chosen shade, for appropriate insertion of the work in its surroundings. The primer is picked from a standard colour chart. This phase is referred to as “priming”.
